Community Thanksgiving at Wings Support & Recovery

From 1:00-4:00 p.m. on November 26, Wings Support & Recovery in Kenton is hosting a dine-in Community Thanksgiving meal. 

Familieis can sign up for a 45-minute time slot by calling 419-767-2220.

Fewer vehicles do not make rural roads safer

The Ada Icon and other regional news outlets have recently had a flurry of reports on fatal and injury traffic crashes. Ran red light/stop sign has been cited in several crashes. These incidents make me sad, scared and angry–feelings that are shared by many who are commenting on social media about the crashes and seeking ways to prevent injuries and fatalities.

November 18 Park District board meeting moved to 3:00 p.m.

The Park District of Liberty Township has moved its Monday, November 18 board meeting to 3:00 p.m.

The meeting will take place at the park office at 600 S Simon St, Ada.

Fatal single vehicle accident on November 12

PERRY TOWNSHIP – On November 12, 2021 at 11:21 p.m., Glen Davis was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche eastbound on SR 309 near Mumaugh Rd. He drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch and a tree.

Glen Davis, age 46, from Harrod, Ohio suffered fatal injuries and was transported by Bath Township EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital. The 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene by Army’s Towing. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Bath Township Fire and EMS, Perry Township Fire and EMS, and Army’s Auto Wrecking.

Reminder; Parent-teacher conferences and Thanksgiving school schedule

The Ada Schools will hold parent teacher conferences on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Parent teacher conferences will be held  for grades K-12. Conferences for students in grades K to 5 will be student- led.   To sign up for a conference visit https://signup.com/go/nYLPppN/

There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 26-29.

Nov. 18 Blood Drive at Ada Visiting Nurses & Hospice

The Ada Visiting Nurses & Hospice, 1200 S. Main St. will host a blood and pwer red drive on Monday, November 18 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The American Red Cross has this offer:
