Bulldog matmen take 2 at Cory tourney

The Ada wrestling team opened its season with a solid showing Saturday, December 4, at the annual, six-team Cory-Rawson Duals.

The youthful Bulldogs won two matches on the day to finish 2-3 in head-to-head team action.

Ada defeated event host C-R 48-30 and doubled up Delphos Jefferson 48-24 to post its two wins. 

The Bulldog matmen lost to Van Buren 42-21, fell to Arcadia 48-24 and lost to Archbold 58-18.

Archbold won the six-team competition, followed by Van Buren (3-2). 

Bulldog sophomore Clayton McClain went 5-0 on the day with four pins in the 132 and 138 lbs. classes.

Ada freshman Liam Vieira also finished 5-0 at the event with three pins in the 120 lbs. division.

Ada freshman Aedyn Beckwith put together a 4-1 record with two pins at 126 lbs.

Bulldog junior Aydan East also won two matches at 215 lbs.
