At the December 16 meeting of the Ada School Board, the five board members heard reports from Apollo Career Center Superintendent Keith Horner (to be covered in a separate article) and from Ada Schools staff members, as well as approved recommendations from the superintendent, Robin VanBuskirik.

H.S. Principal Dan Lee noted that weight room upgrades will be made over the holiday break.
Treasurer Kim Light reviewed the balance of funds, monthly check register, investment schedule, monthly bank reconciliation, budget modifications, disposal of assets, depository contracts, invoice for approval and audit update. (Supporting documents attached.)
Superintendent VanBuskirk’s recommendations included:
Approving the resignation of elementary principal Ben Thaxton, who is taking a job with Northwest Ohio Area Computer Services Cooperative.
Approving the resignation of Elizabeth Vogt, who plans to retire at the end of the school year.
Approve retroactively certified substitute teachers Mykaela Schriber, Kylie Acheson, Hanna Hogue and Brianna Liebrecht for the current school year.
Approve certified and classified substitute teacher Christian Boose and substitute custodian Chance Taylor for the current school year.
Approve supplemental contracts for Klintisha Martin, Volunteer Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball, $0.00; Meagan Zoladz, Volunteer Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball, $0.00; Ryan Shanks, Assistant Jr. High Softball Coach, $2,375.00; Brent Jordan, Junior High Softball Coach, $2,375.00.
Enter a service agreement through Midwest Regional Educational Services Center for Elementary Principal Services (with Tim Closson).
Approve volunteer school driver Erinn Prater.
