As I promised in an earlier article, I’m writing an article about the growth mindset. In school, I learned about this mindset, and it has given me some perspective.
This may be oversimplified, so be sure to take what I say with a grain of salt.
There are two different mindsets. The growth mindset and the fixed mindset. These mindsets are based on our perception and response to failure and challenging tasks.
People who have a fixed mindset do not grow nearly as much as people who have a growth mindset because people with a fixed mindset believe that their abilities/intelligence is “fixed” or stagnant.
The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced on March 17 that the federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021.
Ohio tax date remains unchanged:While certain tax deadlines were extended for 2020, currently all Ohio tax return filings and payment due dates remain unchanged for 2021. Should this change, the Icon will announce it.
Ada Athletic Boosters reverse raffle tickets are now available.
According to the Boosters Facebook: "This year will be a little different. We will be going virtual on Saturday, May 15, at 7 p.m. on the Booster Facebook page.
"Tickets are $50 and top prize will be $5,000. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket or want more information, contact Lisa Crawford Conley at 419-235-6562 or at [email protected].
"Proceeds from the reverse raffle allow the boosters to provide financial support to all sports at Ada High School."
Several open houses are planned in Hardin County in March and April. Ada’s open house is from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, in the Ada Public Library, according to Amanda Raines, 4-H youth development educator.
Here’s the entire county open house list, held in public library’s in their respective communities:
Forest – March 23 5 to 7 p.m.
Ada – March 24, 5 to 7 p.m.
Dunkirk – March 29, 5 to 7 p.m.
Kenton – March 30, 5 to 7 p.m.
Mt. Victory – April 10, 10 a.m. to noon
