Duane Bollenbacher wins first week's football contest

Duane Bollenbacher of Bluffton is the winner of the Ada Icon's first football contest. He picked correct winners in all 15 games.

Other contestants follow:

• 14 correct - John Clevidence, Marvin Foster and Todd Fleharty.

Kenton tops Ada boys' 2-1

Kenton defeated the Ada boys' soccer team in a close match Aug. 22 in Kenton. The Wildcats won 2-1. Here are some photos of the match taken by Vicki Garmon.

Kiwanis Club hears update on First United Methodist Church

Ada Kiwanis Club members had an update on progress on the Ada First United Methodist Church project.

It was reported that the complexity of planning for a new building includes policies from the United Methodist Church denomination, including a forming a vision committee that works with the church and the community to identify needs.

It was reported that members of the congregatyion will hold three summits over the next month that includes examining the past, where are we going, and how do we get there.

Bingo continues each Thursday in Ada

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m..

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club and Ada Music Boosters.

Eyes on Main

There's a new name on Main Street Ada. The Village Vision Center, 107 S. Main St., is changing to Eyes on Main. Signed by Josette, a Findlay business, installed the new sign on Thursday.
