Apollo students will Invite-a-Veteran

To commemorate Veterans Day 2022, Apollo Career Center will host an event for students, Invite-a-Veteran. The special event will be held in the high school building cafeteria, 1-2:30 p.m., Friday, November 11.

Over 40 students and their invited guests will attend a special ceremony to honor those Veterans in attendance, including guests, staff and current students. Apollo graduates and fallen soldiers, Christian Neff, Shawnee, and Jon Michael Schoolcraft, Wapakoneta, will also be honored, as well as their families in attendance.

Featured speaker will be Dr. Clancy Hatleberg, Phd., MBA, JD.

Deb Curlis named Distinguished Citizen of the Year 2022

Ada Schools Parent-Teacher Conferences 2022

The Ada Exempted Village School District is having Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in grades K-12 from 

3:30-8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21 

10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022

Students will only attend school on Monday, November 21 that week. There will not be school on November 22 or 23 (for conferences) as well as on November 24 and November 25 (for Thanksgiving break).

ONU student podcast on 2022 Midterm Elections and Northern Poll

In their most recent podcast episode Ohio Northern University students Hailey Trimpey and Kennedy Aikey dive into the basics of midterm elections. They tell their listeners the general information that is important to know prior to voting as well as why these elections are critical. They are then joined by ICAPP Director, Dr. Robert Alexander to discuss the Ohio midterm elections more specifically in regard to his recent Northern Poll results.

McGuffey receives $44K Nature Works funding for playground expansion

A grant for $44,621 has been awarded to McGuffey Park for park expansion and installing playground equipment, new surface and border, chain link fencing and bench.

The grant is one of 68 recently announced by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). $1.7 million in grants will support dozens of new outdoor recreation projects across the state. Projects include the development of playgrounds, natural playscapes, trails, restrooms, dog parks, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, splash pads, and picnic shelters.
