Phyllis Jean Kaiser worked for ONU dining services

Phyllis Jean Kaiser, age 92, of Harrod, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 9:04 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

She was born on November 14, 1930, in Indiana to the late Ernest and Cynthia (Patrick) Lenhart. On March 27, 1948, Phyllis married A. Wayne Kaiser and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2018.

June 2023 land transfers in Ada school district

Honigford, Orofino, Tubbs named All-American Scholars by WGCA

Ohio Northern junior Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) and seniors Isabella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and Jessica Tubbs (Maumee/Springfield) were named All-American Scholars for the 2022-23 season by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

Honigford, Orofino and Tubbs were among 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 programs across the country recognized with this prestigious honor.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and include having an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, being an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and playing in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year through the team's conference championship.

One year anniversary of 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in Ohio

COLUMBUS--On July 7, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, joined by Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Director Lori Criss, and Ohio 988 Administrator Doug Jackson, recognized the positive impact of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline on Ohioans following one year of state-and-nationwide implementation. The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline provides residents with one, easy to remember number to call–988–when they or someone they know is in crisis.

Didgeridoo Down Under, July 11

The Ada Public Library invites all to Didgeridoo Down Under, a free show including Australian culture, music and comedy on Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Ada War Memorial Park.

The event is part of Summer Read programming that is open to all ages. You can still register for a chance to win prizes. The program ends July 31.
