BEXLEY — Senior Brody Hahn (Louisville) accounted for five touchdowns and 418 yards of total offense to lead the Ohio Northern football team to a 47-6 victory at Capital on Friday night at Bernlohr Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-0 overall and are 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Crusaders fall to 0-3, 0-3.
Hahn threw for 312 yards and two scores and ran 11 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns to lead the ONU offense.
Junior All-American Brock Martin (Attica/Seneca East) ran 16 times for 75 yards and a score. He also caught a pass for 40 yards and returned a kickoff for 20 yards to account for 135 all-purpose yards.
ONU scored on its first four possession and led 28-6 at intermission.
Northern marched 95 yards on its opening drive and took a 7-0 lead with 5:39 gone in the game when Hahn hit senior Chase Rose (Kenton/Upper Scioto Valley) on a 9-yard touchdown pass.
Martin capped a 6-play, 64-yard drive on its next possession by plowing in from one yard out to make it 14-3 with 1:17 left in the opening quarter.
On ONU's next possession, Hahn hit junior Austin Eick (Rossford) on a 32-yard TD pass and the lead was 21-3 with 12:59 left in the half.
After another Capital field goal made it 21-6, Hahn scored on a 1-yard keeper to give Ohio Northern a 28-6 lead with 4:03 left before halftime.
Hahn scambled in for touchdown runs of 42 and 14 yards as Northern led 40-6 after three quarters.
Sophomore Jamir Nunley (Cleveland/Mayfield) scored on an 11-yard run and it was 47-6 with 8:11 remaining.
Ohio Northern out-gained Capital 565-186 in total offense.
Freshman Payton Wilson (Elida) led the ONU defense with a career-high 14 tackles.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Friday when they play host to Wilmington at 7 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
