DOLA - The visiting Ada baseball team rallied to edge county rival Hardin Northern 10-9 Monday evening to win their season opener.

Ada improved to 1-0 with the victory, while HN fell to 0-1 with the defeat.

Bulldog sophomore right-hander Roman Snyder earned his initial pitching victory, while senior Jacob Morgan finished in relief to receive his first save.

"Itís always nice to get the first win of a season," said Ada veteran head coach Jason Campbell. "The boys never gave up, chipped away at their lead, and played hard for seven innings.

"This is the kind of win that sets up the season," he added. "Roman looked good for four innings, throwing strikes and getting outs allowing us to mount the comeback."

Senior Jacob Poling, Morgan and junior Tyler Jameson each collected two runs batted in for the victorious Bulldogs. Morgan had two hits, while senior Devon Cole hit a double and a single.

Ada is slated to host non-league foe Arcadia (0-2) Tuesday. The Bulldogs then entertain BVC rival Cory-Rawson (1-2) Thursday, April 1.

C-R was swept by Carey in a doubleheader Saturday, while Arcadia dropped a twinbill to New Riegel. Cory then rebounded to whip USV 15-4 Monday evening.

Ada's Saturday scheduled season-opening twinbill at home vs. Perry was cancelled due to wet playing fields. The doubleheader will likely not be made up.
