Ada school staff and teachers receive vaccines Friday morning
Ada will have a scheduled 2-hour school delay on Friday, Feb. 26, according to Meri Skilliter, superintendent. School will begin at 10:35 a.m.
Members of the Ohio Northern University HealthWise pharmacy staff will administer the first round of covid-19 vaccines to staff and teachers from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
"We are grateful for Ohio Northern University in being a wonderful neighbor and partner, not just in arranging our vaccinations, but also in other areas throughout this pandemic," said Skilliter.
The vaccine clinic was originally planned for Feb. 19. The winter storm of last week caused a shipment delay and the event was moved to Feb. 26.
Healthwise Pharmacy provided vaccinations to Ridgemont staff and teachers on Feb. 24, to Upper Scioto Valley staff and teachers on Feb. 25.
Following the clinic at Ada schools, the pharmacy staff will be at Hardin Northern.
The vaccinations will be administered in a clinic format, with setup in a gymnasium or cafeteria. Included will be check-in, immunization and mandatory waiting period stations.
Student pharmacists will be facilitating each station with pharmacist supervision.
