MT. BLANCHARD - The visiting Ada girls soccer team lost 7-1 at Riverdale in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Wednesday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 3-10 overall and 1-4 in NCOSA action with the loss. The Lady Falcons improved to 7-6-1 and 4-1 in the NCOSA standings after the victory.
A strong start gave Riverdale a 5-0 lead at the half, but the Bulldog girls battled them to a 2-1 second half.
Strong-legged senior standout Brenna Hissong scored the lone Ada goal off a free kick after intermission.
"I'm proud of our performance in the second half," said first-year Ada head coach A.J. Wahlie. "There were times where we settled down and just knocked the ball around.
"We have to eliminate putting ourselves behind early in the match," he added.
Ada junior keeper Olivia Green made a career-high 32 saves in goal. The purple and gold girls were playing their third match in as many nights.
The Lady Bulldogs visit Hardin County rival Kenton Saturday night under the lights at 7 p.m.
"We will take the good performance from the second half at Riverdale and look to build on it Saturday," Wahlie noted.
