Ohio Northern University's off-campus COSI offers an encouraging word to all students and passers-by. "We love our students. Take good care!" Meanwhile, off to the side, is a village sign stating "Don't let the light go out," another encouraging thought.

Hardin County OSU Extension closed its office Tuesday, March 17.  In alignment with all OSU offices, we have postponed all face-to-face programming through April 30 in response to the recent social distancing directives.

Until further notice, all OSU Extension staff are working remotely and are available from 8am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday to receive phone calls and emails.

"While our offices will be physically closed, we are committed to continuing to conduct our work as fully as possible.  We are offering online video-based trainings for some of our scheduled programs during this time," said Mark Badertscher.

Melissa Gossard shares some insights on kids and sports

By Barbara Lockard
Ada first-grade teacher Melissa Gossard will be inducted into the 2020 class of the Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame this spring.  A 1991 Hardin Northern graduate, Gossard was an All-Ohioan in volleyball and basketball.  As volleyball coach at Ada High School, she had the distinction of being the “winningest coach in school history.”  We asked Melissa to share some of her insights on kids and sports.

Although there are young children who show a lot of talent in a particular sport, Melissa Gossard feels that there should be an emphasis on some other qualities.
