CONVOY - Host Crestview bombed in a dozen triples and rode a 28-4 second period to a 75-37 victory over Ada in Northwest Conference girls basketball play Thursday night.
The Bulldog girls dropped to 5-12 overall and 0-5 in the NWC after their fifth consecutive defeat. Meanwhile, the Lady Knights evened their records at 8-8 and 3-3 in the NWC with the victory.
Crestview led just 13-11 after the first period as Ada junior Kylie Acheson scored all five of her points to help keep the Bulldog girls close. But the Lady Knights blew it open with a huge second quarter to lead 41-15 at intermission.
The Knight girls also outscored Ada 24-6 in the final period, and by a total of 62-26 over the final 24 minutes.
"The first quarter was great, but they hit eight three-pointers in the second," said Lady Bulldog second-year head coach Morgan Bass.
"Offensively we did some good things," she continued. "Defensively, we obviously struggled."
Knight junior Bailey Gregory hit five of her eight trifectas in the explosive second stanza en route to a game-high 26 points. Senior Lexi Gregory contributed 19 points and a pair of trifectas. Crestview junior Olivia Cunningham tallied 13 markers, and freshman Laci McCoy added 11.
Freshman point guard Courtney Sumner led Ada with 12 points. Sophomore Kirsten Poling scored eight points, and junior Miranda Wills added six.
The Ada girls sank 13 baskets, including 10 two-pointers and three from three-point range. The Lady Bulldogs converted eight of 11 from the charity stripe (73 percent).
The Knight girls made 18 two-pointers and drained a dozen three-point baskets for a total of 30 made field goals. Crestview converted all three of its tries at the foul line (100 percent).

Ada (1-6 road) visits winless local arch-rival Upper Scioto Valley (0-14) in a non-league battle Tuesday, January 28. "I am excited to move on and take on Upper next," said Bass. "It's always a game we get excited for."
USV lost 50-48 to NWCC foe Waynesfield Jan. 23.
