Niles led OAC in most tackles; Williams in rushing

 D3football.com released its list of All-Americans and two Ohio Northern standouts were recognized.

Senior linebacker Mark Niles (Miramar, Fla.) added to his collection of postseason awards, as he was named second-team All-American. Junior running back Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) reeled in honorable-mention All-American recognition. 

Niles paced the Ohio Athletic Conference for the second consecutive year with 95 tackles, an 11.9-tackle per-game average. He added seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss and had one fumble recovery. Niles finished his career ranked ninth all-time in school history with 268 tackles in 26 games. 

Williams led the conference in rushing, accumulating 1,362 yards, a 136.2-yard per-game average. He boasted 6.1 yards per carry and recorded 11 touchdowns.

Williams is ONU's all-time leading rusher with 4,193 yards in 29 games played. He also ranks fourth all-time in all-purpose yards with 5,020. 

The Polar Bears closed the 2019 season strong, winning three of their final four games to finish with a 6-4 overall record, 6-3 in OAC play, which placed them third in the standings.
