KENTON - The visiting Ada volleyball team swept Hardin County foe Kenton in a non-league match Monday evening to post their fourth win in the last five matches.
The Lady Bulldogs evened their record at 8-8 with the 26-24, 25-18, 25-20 victory. Kenton fell to 1-8 with the defeat.
"Kirsten Poling went down with a knee injury in the second set so Courtney Sumner went in and helped the team work hard for the win," said Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor.
"Then Kelly Preston and Selena Jordan played the third set, and both played really well. I am really proud of the team for working together to overcome the injury and finishing in three," she added.
Junior Megan Light led the Bulldogs with 20 kills, 18 digs, two aces and two blocks.
Junior Miranda Wills hit eight kills and hustled up 18 digs.
"Miranda had quite a few kills in the middle, and the team worked well adjusting to different positions," said Tabor.
Senior libero Kendal Guagenti came up with 17 digs and served three aces.
Sophomore setter Kirsten Poling passed out 15 assists and added four kills before exiting with what is believed to be a minor knee injury. Sophomore Aubrey Madison contributed 17 assists and three blocks.
Senior Josie Poling knocked down five kills, and classmate Preston added a pair of aces. Sumner and Jordan each added a kill, while Jordan passed out one assist.
The Lady Bulldog reserves also won in straight sets, 2-0.
Ada visits former league rival LCC Tuesday, Sept. 24.

RAWSON - The Ada volleyball team won two of its three matches and finished third at the tough six-team Cory-Rawson Invitational Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-8 with the wins.
Ada first beat host Cory-Rawson 25-20, 20-25, 25-18. Megan Light led the Bulldogs with 14 kills and five blocks. Miranda Wills contributed five kills, 15 digs and one ace.
Kirsten Poling knocked down three kills, passed out 16 assists and made five blocks.
Aubrey Madison served one ace while libero Kendal Guagenti came up with 27 digs. Josie Poling hit for two kills, and Kelly Preston served one ace.
Ada then lost to second seed Arcadia 25-23, 25-12. Light had two kills, two blocks and eight digs. Wills amassed four kills, one ace and six digs.
Kirsten Poling passed out six assists, served one ace, made one block and added five digs. Madison dished out four assists and had one block.
Guagenti dealt a pair of aces and made five digs. Josie Poling added three kills.
Ada then beat Vanlue 25-16, 25-19 in its final match. Light drilled 10 kills, made five blocks and added five digs. Wills hustled up five digs.
Kirsten Poling knocked down three kills, passed out 11 assists, made four blocks and added six digs.
Aubrey Madison passed for six assists and came up with two blocks. Guagenti served two aces and made 14 digs. Kylie Acheson contributed four kills.
