LIMA - The Ada cross country team competed in the Bath Invitational meet Tuesday evening.
The Bulldog boys finished ninth in the nine-team meet, which featured 98 runners.
Shawnee came in first with 32 points, well ahead of second-place Ottoville (93). USV was fifth (115) and Kenton finished seventh (149), while Ada totaled 239 points.
"The boys ran hard, and looked strong despite not reaching any new personal records," said Ada head coach Josh Klein. "We have been working as a team on overcoming soreness, and I have been encouraging the boys to start pushing themselves at practice in order to reach their goal times by the end of the season."
The average Ada time was 23:08.68.
USV freshman Joe Parker came in fifth in 17:56.9. Teammate Zack Britton finished ninth in 18:25.8.
Perry sophomore Brady Yingst won the individual race with a time of 17:20.4.

Ada runs next at the Kalida Invitational Saturday morning, September 28.
"I am very much looking forward to Saturday's meet at Kalida as we always seem to put up our best times of the season there," said Klein.
