Ohio Northern University presented Dankook Awards to graduating students Mitchell Frisby and Daniel Musci during recent commencement ceremonies.
Frisby, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in marketing, is from Wadsworth, Ohio, and graduated from Wadsworth Senior High School.
Musci, who earned a bachleor’s degree in electrical engineering, is from North Ridgeville, Ohio, and graduated from North Ridgeville High School.
The award recognizes two ONU students with outstanding records in academics, student leadership, co-curricular activities and service. Presented since 1974, the Dankook Award is an annual reciprocal award exchanged between Dankook University in South Korea and ONU.
During his college career, Frisby was a member of the lacrosse team and recruitment chair of Sigma Pi fraternity. He also gained practical experience as a sales representative with Polar Merchandise, a student-run business in ONU’s Dicke College of Business Administration that provides promotional products and merchandise.
Further, he was involved with the ONU chapter of the American Marketing Association and participated in the university’s study abroad program, taking courses at the American College of Dublin, Ireland, during the summer of 2018. He also was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma international business honorary.
While an ONU student, Musci served as president of the ONU student chapter of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), was a member of the President’s Club, a University Innovation Fellow and was in the university’s Honors Program.
He additionally was a member of the Office of Residence Life, serving as a resident assistant. Bridging the classroom and the workplace, Musci gained practical experience in his field during co-op experiences with American Electrical Power during the summer of 2017 and with Crown Equipment Corporation during the summer of 2016.
