A memorial service will be held at his residence on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 6:00 pm.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Benevolence of the Family C/O Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Alger, Ohio 45812.

Next Friday night it's "Music on Main" in downtown Ada

The Buy Ada First Committee has organized a Music On Main event for Friday, July 13, from 6 – 8 p.m. at The Depot parking lot, weather permitting.

WONB 94.9 FM is providing music, several businesses are having sidewalk sales, some restaurants will be offering specials, the Ada Rotary Club is having a chicken barbecue fundraiser and more.

Bring lawn chairs, enjoy dinner, visit the businesses, listen and dance to music and spend time in Ada with friends and family.

The Buy Ada First is an Ad-hoc group. Participation is welcome. For more information, please feel free to contact Heather Cox at 419-634-5015.

Bingo continues each Thursday in Ada

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and  Bingo begins at 6:55 p.m., according to Dave Smittle, Ada Music Boosters treasurer.

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as, traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club and Ada Music Boosters.

Ada local doctors are saying to watch out for poison ivy and sumac. If you realize you have been exposed, shower and wash all cloths. Visit your local pharmacy for ointment and if it gets worse, call your doctor.  

Monday, July 9, Buy Local Committee will be meeting at Community Health Professionals at 8 a.m.

July 5: Approximately 144,000 AEP Ohio customers remain without power

AEP Ohio -- through our rebuilding efforts -- has restored power to more than a half million customers affected by the catastrophic  storm that moved through the state June 29 and the additional 20,000 who lost power in the July 1 evening storm.                                  

As of 9:30 a.m. today, approximately 516,000 of the customers left without power June 29 now have service.                                          

New overnight storms interrupted power to approximately 23,000 additional customers across our service territory. Power has been restored to all by approximately 8,700 of those customers.
