Alger Public Library packed with events for summer

Alger Public Library is offering a number of special events for the summer.

For a complete list of regular and one-off events, please see the library's calendar.  Here are the latest events on offer:

Polar Paws dogs will be at the library at noon, on Thursday, May 30. These pups are service dogs in training, through 4 Paws for Ability at Ohio Northern University. Children are encouraged to meet the pups, read to them, and learn more about Polar Paws. 

Meet your EMT, sponsored by the local USV Alger EMS Squard, will be on Monday, June 3 at 2 p.m. at the library. The squad offers a tour of an ambulance.

The Hillbilly Silly Science Spectacular Comedy Show will be Thursday, June 6 from 3 - 4 p.m. This show combines comedy with basic science concepts for a fun, educational experience. As part of the show, the audience will develop hypotheses for each experiment.

On the second Saturday of every month, the library hosts Get a (Better) Job workshops, starting Saturday, June 8, from 8 - 10 a.m. at the library. This workshop covers job searching, applications and resumes, and mock interviews. These workshops are led by a recruiter and retired HR manager.  

If you want to learn to draw superheroes, come to a Comic Book Club art class for adults and teens will be Thursday, June 13 at 5 p.m.

Mister Pickles travelling show comes to the library at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 18 for a "Jarful of Fun". With music and magic tricks, Mr Pickles brings comedy that is family friendly.
