$120,000 project for the park

Ada War Memorial Park will have all-new electric lines by late spring or early summer thanks to voters who approved two park levies two years ago.

Work is beginning on the $120,000 project which will provide all new lines, panel boxes, conduit, and poles to the grove area (not the stadium).

he improved electric will service nine shelters and provide panel boxes with outlets for special occasions, such as the F & M Picnic when food vendors and amusements need to hook up.

New Leaf Garden Center, 395 SR 235, Ada, invites you to its Christmas open house.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10. It includes open house specials, refreshments and door prizes.

The garden center offers unique decorations, country and traditional decorations, artificial trees, wreaths and greenery, chocolate peanut cluster and more candy, grape vine trees, wreaths and many more holiday items.

ReStore Community Center is giving away free coats to boys and girls in need who are enrolled in grades 2-6. Some other winter apparel is available, as well. The new coats were donated by the Knights of Columbus. Children must be accompanied by a parent. 

 

Ada and Allen East high school graduates are members of this year’s ONU wrestling team. They are:

Austin Windle of Ada, who will wrestle at 197 pounds, and is a three-year letter winner;

Schuyler Capprella of Harrod, who will wrestle at 157, and is a returning lettermen.

 

The Ohio Northern wrestling program enters the 2018-19 season with high hopes under 31st-year head coach Ron Beaschler. The Polar Bears return nine lettermen and five starters from last year's squad.

 

Ohio Northern junior midfielder Haley Moses of Mason, Ohio, has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for her success on the pitch and in the classroom, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday afternoon.
