AHS golfers lose to Musketeers, 186-211

BLUFFTON – The Ada High School varsity boys golf team lost a dual match to non-league foe Fort Jennings Tuesday, August 6, at the Bluffton Golf Course.

The Musketeers defeated the Bulldogs, 186-211.

The Bulldogs were paced by senior Ethan Lawrence, who shot a nine-hole score of 46 to end up third individually in the match.   

Sophomore Brody Rister carded a score of 49 to come in fifth overall among the 11 golfers. Junior Sam Crawford posted a 55.

Bluffton High School to host 1:00 p.m. Watch Party

UPDATE: Watch party will be held in the Bluffton HS Gym starting at 1:00 p.m. The semi-final is scheduled to take place at 1:35 p.m. 

Blufftonite Trevor Bassitt advances to the August 7 semi-finals in the men's 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics following a successful run in the first heat of the August 6 Repechage Rounds.

Bassitt ran 48.64 and placed first in his heat. 

AHS golfers open season at BVC meet

FINDLAY __ The Ada High School varsity boys golf team teed off its 2024 campaign with the first of three Blanchard Valley Conference championship league meets this season on Monday, August 5 at the Findlay Country Club.

It was the first-ever athletic event for the Bulldogs as a full-fledged member of the BVC. The second league event will be in mid-season, followed by the third tournament at the end of the year.

“It was a great experience to begin the season and introduce us to the BVC,” said Ada head coach Kurt Klingler. “It was a hot day, but we were competitive and had a good day.”
