By Cort Reynolds
The visiting Ada baseball team lost 13-0 at Leipsic in a non-conference bout Wednesday.
The Bulldog boys dropped to 8-6 with the defeat.
The Vikings seized control with six runs in the bottom of the first. Leipsic plated two runs in the second frame and five more in the third to put the game out of reach and win the run-rule shortened, five-inning game.
The lone Bulldog hits were singles by senior Austin Amburgey and junior Dylan East. East also stole two bases, while sophomore Zac Swaney walked and swiped a base.
Viking Tyler Hiegel smacked two doubles, singled and drove in four runs to pace the Leipsic offense. Cole Rieman hit a double, two singles and scored three runs while adding two runs batted in.
Tyler Sickmiller tripled in two runs while teammate Trey Schroeder collected three singles, two RBI and a run scored.
Viking hurler Drew Liffick earned the win with five innings of shutout, two-hit pitching. Liffick walked three and struck out six.
Leipsic collected 12 hits in four innings of offense. Both teams left five runners on base and played error-less defense.
