Seven farmers participate in Shallow Run watershed phosphorus monitoring

On August 22, scientists from the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and four regional universities gathered with Hardin County area farmers to explain the water and soil quality monitoring efforts being done in the Shallow Run watershed near Dunkirk.

Ohio Northern University has been ranked #1 in Ohio in the Best Value category in the Wall Street Journal's 2025 Best Colleges in the United States, according to the University's media relations department.

ONU is also #1 in Ohio for the publication's Best Salaries ranking, which rates schools “in order of their impact on graduate’s salaries and how this relates to the cost of attending college.” WSJ/College Pulse 2025 Best Colleges in the U.S. rates the top 500 universities in the country, emphasizing how much a college improves its students’ chances of graduating on time, and how much it boosts the salaries they earn after graduation.

The outline of the expanded Ada-Liberty Joint Ambulance station on Gilbert St. is taking shape. A new levy was passed in 2022 to improve the station to allow staff to sleep overnight in beds rather than on a couch or in their cars.
