Ada's Myra Berger receives Hardin County Clara Barton Award

Myra Berger of Ada received the Hardin County Clara Barton Award on April 2 by the American Red Cross.

The award was given at the Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties volunteer recognition luncheon at American Legion Post 96 in Lima.

Those honored include volunteers who help with blood drives, assist at fundraising events, help in the office, and disaster volunteers who assist fire victims. 

Next Ada blood drive April 13

An American Red Cross blood drive is in Ada, Friday, April 13. The drive is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the McIntosh Center at Ohio Northern University.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Indiana and Ohio), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

Bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.

ONU’s American Marketing Association places first in national competition

 

Ohio Northern University’s American Marketing Association (AMA) took top honors in a Strategic Allocation of Business Resources (SABRE) market simulation competition at the AMA International Collegiate Conference New Orleans on Thursday, March 22. ONU was one of 35 universities that participated in the eight-hour competition, including Ferris State University and Johns Hopkins University, which placed second and third, respectively.

Ohio high school principals vote on new competitive balance proposal for sports teams

The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Board of Directors held a special meeting on Friday, March 23, and approved five additional items to place before the membership during the annual referendum voting process that will be held between May 1 and 15.

Among the items that will be voted upon by member school principals is a slightly revised Competitive Balance Proposal that, if adopted, would place schools into their respective tournament divisions in team sports based on a sport-by-sport athletic count.
