Spring severe weather awareness week tips from AEP

GAHANNA, Ohio, March 21, 2023—This week is Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week in Ohio. As we officially say goodbye to winter, now is a good time to prepare for the unpredictable storms that often accompany the spring season.

Northern Winds Spring Band Concert

The Northern Winds will perform a Spring Band Concert:

Sat., March 25 | 7:30 p.m.
Freed Center for the Performing Arts

Comprised of instrumentalists representing numerous academic programs across campus, Northern Winds will perform traditional selections including marches, fanfares, world music and the spiritual Deep River featuring guest vocalist Dr. Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw; along with more contemporary compositions such as Scott Boerma's Zoom.

Bluffton Farmers Market invites vendors to April 3 organizational meeting

The Bluffton Farmers Market is excited to announce the upcoming vendors meeting, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. on April 3 on the third floor of the Bluffton Town Hall. The meeting is open to all interested vendors.

May 2 vaccination clinic for students entering 7th grade in the fall

On May 2, 2023, the Kenton-Hardin Health Department will set up a mobile clinic during the school day for children to receive the vaccines required for 7th grade, including both the Tdap and meningitis vaccines. For more information regarding these vaccines, please contact the Kenton-Hardin Health Department at 419-673-6230.

If you would like to get your child vaccinated outside of the school date, the Kenton-Hardin Health Department holds clinics every Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., by appointment at the office in Kenton. There are also monthly mobile clinics in Ada, Forest and Dunkirk on specific days. 

Local blood drives in March, April and May

ONU hosts March 23 event from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

As the seasons change, the American Red Cross is reminding the public that the need for blood doesn’t take a break.

Donors of all blood types, especially type O donors and platelet donors, are encouraged to make and keep appointments to donate. Book a time to give by visiting www.RedCrossBlood.org, downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
