Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival lineup of organizers and activities

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its eighth annual Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival on Saturday, August 24. The listing of events and activities below show the festival’s growth and how each year organizers find a new way to celebrate football and footballs.

Statewide campaign encourages Ohioans to serve as volunteer firefighters

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine joined Ohio Department of Commerce Director Sherry Maxfield and State Fire Marshal Kevin Reardon on Aug. 16 to announce a Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign to raise awareness for Ohio's need for volunteer firefighters.

Businesses and individuals funded Ada Summer Reading Program

The Ada Public Library is issuing thanks to 16 financial supporters of the 2024 Summer Reading Program:

"Thank you to the following list of people, businesses, and organizations that monetarily supported our Adventure at the Library Summer Reading Program. It takes a village and our village lays the foundation for our children to succeed and thrive. We are humbled and in awe of the support we received to help with programming, decorations, Story Times, Kick Off and so much more. Thank You!!!!"

Over 30 donors provided prizes for Ada's 2024 summer reading program

The Ada Public LIbrary has announced, "We had prizes coming out of our book stacks this year thanks to the generous contributions of the following people, local businesses and organizations. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The kids were so excited this year and we had our kids (and adults), reading all summer long!!!"

Second Liberty Preschool classroom debuts in 2024-25

Liberty Preschool, a service of the Midwest Educational Service Center and located in the Ada Schools, now has a second classroom as mandated by the State of Ohio. The space (shown in the top photo) had been used as storage and was renovated over the summer.
