RSVP for United Way Annual Meeting, March 20

KENTON__The United Way of Hardin County 2024 Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 4:30-6:00 pm at the Varsity Venue.

The Ada High School boys tennis team starts a new season under first-year head coach Morgan Bass this spring with an inexperienced roster.

Jones takes second, sets new girls bench press record at McClain State Powerlifting

KENTON__Kennedy Jones, a Junior at Ada High School, took second place in her class in girls competition at the 36th Annual Bill McClain State Powerlifting event. 

Competing among the best in Divisions 5, 6, and 7 at Kenton High School on Saturday, March 16, Jones secured second place in her class with:

Squat: 330 lbs

Deadlift: 305 lbs

Bench Press: 165 lbs

These scores culminated in a total lift of 800 lbs, for a 60 lb increase from her regional performance. Notably, Jones’ bench press of 165 lbs contributed to her second-place finish and set a new state record, surpassing the prior record held by Bianca Phongphiou of Montpelier High School.

School board meeting is March 25

The March 2024 regular meeting of the Ada Board Of Education will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

Allen County ESC and Apollo Career Center host annual College Fair

The Allen County Educational Service Center and Apollo Career Center are excited to announce the annual Allen County College Fair, which will be held on March 26, 2024, 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m., at Apollo Career Center. This event provides high school students the opportunity to connect with various colleges and universities, providing them with valuable information and resources for those looking at postsecondary options.

The College Fair will feature representatives from a wide range of institutions, including local and regional colleges, universities, trade schools, and military branches. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with representatives to ask questions about admissions, programs, financial aid, scholarships, and campus life, among other topics.
