Ada Elementary students and teachers held a Dime Wars coin collection as part of Christmas spirit activities for the month of December to provide donations toward a worthy cause.
Through these fundraisers, the school made a donation of $958 to the Ada Food Pantry, which provides the Bulldog Backpack Blessings Program.
From principal Angela Maag: "Thank you to all of the students and staff at Ada Elementary School for supporting such a good cause and giving back to our community."
ADA – The Ada High School boys basketball team used a 26-point third period outburst to defeat local non-league opponent Cory-Rawson 57-38 on the afternoon of December 21, and post their fourth consecutive victory.
CONTINENTAL – The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team used a second quarter explosion to whip non-conference foe Continental 52-16 and earn their first win of the season on the afternoon of December 21.
The Bulldogs led 12-8 after the first period. But they poured in 26 second-period points to grab a 38-12 lead at halftime, and cruised to the victory.
The convincing win improved the Bulldog record to 1-7 overall. The Pirate girls dropped to 1-8 after the blowout defeat.
“The girls played well from the start,” said Ada third-year head coach Zach Ricker. “We shot well.”
“It was good for the girls and to build their confidence,” he said of getting the first victory.
