Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has named Michelle Stratton, RN, the BVHS Associate of the Year and has been nominated for the Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award, presented by the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA).
Stratton is the sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) coordinator at Blanchard Valley Hospital. A BVHS associate for the past nine years, Stratton’s role includes managing the schedule of the SANE program, training new SANE nurses and budgeting funds that the SANE program received through the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. She also educates the community on sexual assault and domestic violence in eight counties. Outside of work, Stratton enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Each year, the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) names an employee of an Ohio hospital or health care system as the “Health Care Worker of the Year.” The award recognizes a hospital associate who demonstrates leadership, reflects the values and ideals of Ohio’s health care facilities, goes above and beyond the call of duty and gives back to the community.
The recipient for the OHA award will be announced at the annual OHA Recognition Dinner in Columbus on June 5.
