The Ohio Northern women's basketball team is ranked No. 20 in the second weekly  D3hoops.com Women's Division III poll and is receiving votes in the USA Today poll on Tuesday.

Ohio Northern received 125 votes in the second weekly D3hoops.com poll, 45 more than the 80 votes it received in last week's poll.

Voting is conducted by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country.

DePauw (Ind.) is ranked No. 1 with 623 points, followed by Mount Union with 586 points and Calvin (Mich.) with 545 points.

In USA today Division III coaches poll, Ohio Northern recieved eight votes.

John C. Romick, age 57, passed away on Monday December 3, 2012 at 4:11 pm at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

He was born on February 10, 1955 in Lima, Ohio to Merle "Mick" and Jeanette L. "Jan" (Elchert) Romick, who preceded him in death. On May 9, 1987 he married Tina M. Cole, who survives in Lima, Ohio.

John worked for Sodexo at Ohio Northern University, Ada as lead painter.

He attended Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his dog, Lilly.

An organizational meeting for Ada High School athletes interested in track is set for Friday, Dec. 7, after school at 3:35 p.m. The meeting is in the cafeteria.

The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents “Gaudete,” a program that invites reflection on and anticipation of the joyous holiday season, in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m.

The ONU Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Thomas Hunt, will perform the first half of the concert, which will feature a collaboration with the ONU Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Benjamin Ayling.

The ONU Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Lloyd Butler, will perform the second half of the program.

Santa and his reindeer are in Ada. You'll find them - at least this rendition - in the lobby of The Inn at ONU.

"Christmas at the Farm" will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Hardin Historic Village and Farm, located on Fairground Road in Kenton, according to Linda Iams, Director.

Activities include sleigh rides by the Black Swamp Buggy Club, a performance by the Peaceful Strings Dulcimers, an appearance by Santa and plenty of refreshments.
