Milo Lyman "Mike" King 1931 - 2017

Milo Lyman “Mike” King, age 86, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 4:06 p.m. at his residence in Alger.

          He was born on July 4, 1931 in West Newton, Auglaize County, Ohio to Harold and Retta (Shaw) King who preceded him in death.  On November 1, 1953 Milo married Martha Klingler and they were married for 63 years.  Martha survives in Alger.

          Milo was a graduate of Harrod High School in 1949.  He served in the U.S. Army for two years and six years in the reserve, during the Korean War.  Milo was honorable discharged in June 1953. 

          He retired from farming and the DeKalb Dealership in 1995.  He was a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381.  He was a life time member and past president of the Alger Lions Club.  Milo enjoyed farming, fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, traveling and spending winter months in Florida and most of all with his family.

          Also surviving is a son, Michael D. (Laura) King of Lima; two daughters: Patricia J. King of St. Petersburg, FL and Linda M. (Doug) Snider of Zanesfield; six grandchildren: Jacob King of Hilliard, Nicole (Brent) Keller of Lima, Jarrett (Ashley) Gast of Bellefontaine, Marlo Gast of Bellefontaine, Marlyna (Bastien) Gilibert of France and Tesley (Tyler) Johnson of Marysville; eleven great grandchildren: Claire King, Connor King, Kaelyn Keller, Kyndal Keller, Logan Gast, Olivia Gast, Owen Gast, Lyman Thompson, Andrew Gilibert, Tatum Snider and Leo Johnson; and a sister, Marcille (Roger) Coates of West Newton.

          He was preceded in death by a brother, Derrol King; a sister, Creta Gossard; and a niece, Connie Gossard.    

          Graveside memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, at St. Paul Cemetery, Ada with graveside military rites conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.

          In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alger Lions Club.
