Thomas C. Neiswander, age 64, died on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 7:35 p.m. at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on September 3, 1952 in Ada, Ohio to Ralph “Teed” and Lucille “Soni” (Creps) Neiswander. His father survives in Ada and his mother preceded him in death. On May 24, 1987 he married Vivian Baber and she survives in Centerburg.
Thomas was a 1970 graduate of Ada High School and a 1974 graduate of The Ohio State University in Forestry. He was a board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Knox/Licking County of Ohio. He was an avid golfer, reader and tree planter. Thomas retired from the Ohio Department of Insurance after 25 years and had a wonderful year of retirement with his family.
Also surviving is a son, Michael Teed Neiswander of Centerburg; a daughter, Isabelle Oleta Neiswander of Centerburg; an acquired son, Alex Briggs; two sisters: Alice (James) Howard of Edmond, OK and Laura (Mark) Allen of LaPeer, MI; and his mother-in-law, Oleta Baber Swaney of Kingsville.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Centerburg United Methodist Church at the H2O Site with Pastor Matt Skeleton officiating.
Also a memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Rev. Dr. David MacDonald officiating.
