Sophomore Lucas Pennington recorded his first career double-double, but the Ohio Northern men's basketball team dropped a tough 82-76 overtime decision to John Carroll on Satuday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

With the loss, Ohio Northern falls to 5-4 on the season and 1-1 in OAC play, while the Blue Streaks improve to 4-3, 2-1.

Pennington scored 18 points and grabbed a career high 10 rebounds.

Junior Branden Rushton added 12 points, while junior Jared Horstman and sophomore Isaiah Roux each scored 10 points.

Kyle Hubbard led John Carroll with a game high 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Junior Cenzie Yoder notched her second double-double of the season as the No. 20 Ohio Northern women's basketball team defeated John Carroll by a 65-49 score on Saturday afternoon at the DeCarlo Athletic Center.

With the win, the Polar Bears are now 7-1 on the year and 2-0 in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks fall to 5-2, 0-2.

Yoder scored a season high 23 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and also recorded a career high eight steals.

Senior Joanna Snyder also scored in double figures recording 10 points.

Melissa Spahar and Emily Johanson each scored 14 points for John Carroll.

Back-to-back-to-back first period pins by senior Kyle Raber, No. 7-ranked junior Michael Pawlitz and sophomore Cody Lovejoy lifted No. 17 Ohio Northern to a 24-15 non-conference dual meet wrestling victory over Manchester (Ind.) Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 5-1, while the Spartans fall to 0-4.

Trailing 15-12, Raber posted a pin in just 24 seconds at 184 pounds to put Ohio Northern up 18-15.

Pawlitz followed with a pin in 48 seconds at 197 pounds and the Polar Bears had an unsurmountable 24-15 advantage.

Lovejoy put the match away with a pin in 2:43 at heavyweight.

Junior Amanda Everlove set the 400 IM Paraolympic American SA Class record as the Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team topped OAC foe Defiance by a 240-28 score, but fell to Findlay 194-104 on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears are now 3-4 on the season and 2-1 in the OAC. Defiance falls to 2-10 on the year.

Everlove posted a time of 5:47.97 in the 400 IM.

Senior Amy Elmer was victorious in the 1-meter, posting a score of 248.35.

The 4x400 Medley team of freshman Lindsey Inkrott, junior Jennifer Hartsel, junior Jamie Garbash and sophomore Ashley Zoeller finished second in 4:16.27.

The No. 17 Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team beat both the University of Findlay 107.5-66.5 and Defiance College 242-7 on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

With the win the Polar Bears move to a perfect 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the OAC, while the Oilers fall to 0-4 and the Yellow Jackets are 0-9.

The Polar Bears won all but two events on their way to victory, sweeping the Freestyle events.

Freshman Zachary Martin won the 1000 Free with a time of 10:37.82, while freshman Jacob Croasdell won the 500 Free in 5:06.78 and the 50 Free in 23.08.
