No. 4 women's basketball finishes perfect in OAC Regular Season play with 77-42 win over Capital

The No. 4 Ohio Northern women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day with a 77-42 victory over Capital on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears have now won a school record 23 games in a row and stand at 24-1 on the season and 18-0 in the OAC. The Crusaders fall to 14-11, 9-9.

ONU becomes the first team to finish the OAC regular season undefeated since the 1999-00 season.

The 24 victories this season also sets a new school record.

"Driving Miss Daisy" performed at Bluffton March 9

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will present “Driving Miss Daisy,” a drama by Alfred Uhry, performed by the Van Wert Civic Theatre, at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at The Centre, Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.

Tickets are $10 each and are available in Bluffton at Greg’s Pharmacy, Village Cut ‘n’ Curl and the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Tickets may also be ordered by contacting the Bluffton chamber at [email protected]. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the performance.

Jerry Lewis' McDonald's restaurants in Ada, Bluffton, Beaverdam, Delphos, Van Wert and Lima celebrate the Presidents' Day holiday, Monday, Feb. 18, with a one cent sale.

Customers who purchase a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with cheese may also purchase another Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with cheese for one cent.

Hancock ag hall of fame inductees honored March 14

The annual Farmers’ Share Breakfast, presented by the the Agri-Business Committee of the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, March 14, at Brugeman Lodge at Riverbend Park.

The speaker for the event will be the winner of the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) public speaking contest. This year’s breakfast will also feature an update from Jennifer Wilson, Ohio Farm Bureau Organization Director for Allen, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties, and a past scholarship recipient.

The 2013 Inductees of the Hancock County Agricultural Hall of Fame will be recognized. Tickets are available at the Chamber office.

Gary Wells was a 1966 Ada High School graduate

Gary F. "Frank" Wells, age 64, died Friday, February 15, 2013, at 7:42 PM at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Gary was born on August 30, 1948, in Paintsville, Kentucky to George Ireland and Willia (Hyden) Wells and they preceded him in death. On June 25, 1967, he married Judy A. Patton, and she survives in Findlay.

Gary worked in the maintenance department at Whirlpool Corporation in Findlay for 40 years.

He was a member of the Upper Room Church of God, Findlay. Gary was a 1966 graduate of Ada High School. He was a former member of the Ada Lions Club for 10 years.
