Liberty National Bank sponsors "Free Shred Your Documents Week"

 

Do you have lots of paperwork you'd like to shred but don't have a shredder?

During the week of May 6 to May 10, Liberty National Bank, Ada, will have available locked containers provided by Certified Document Destruction, Inc., a shredding company from Wauseon, for individuals to drop off unwanted paperwork to be destroyed.

This is a free service to the community to help fight the growing concern of Identity Theft. These containers will be available during office hours, Monday through Friday.

Ada cultivates 3rd graders interest in Arbor Day

The Ada Tree Commission once again celebrated Arbor Day with Ada Elementary 3rd grade classes on Friday.

Students learned about Arbor Day, Tree City USA, and Tree Campus USA, all the while wanting to know if they were getting their own trees!  Each student did receive their own Dawn Redwood tree to take home to plant.

Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre announces summer class schedule

 

Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre, 220 N. Main St., Ada, announces its summer sessions, which are now open for students to register, according to Darcey Schneider, studio owner.

A four-week summer session (Session A) places place June 4, 11, 18 and 25. Summer session (Session B) takes place July 9, 16, 23 and 30.

Classes include:
5-5:30 p.m. – Gymnastics
5:30-6 p.m. Tap/ballet combo
6-6:30 p.m. – Hip Hop
6:30-7 Lyrical

Dance/gymnastics summer technique sessions for intermediate and advanced level dancers are held each Thursday from June 6 to Aug. 22.

Hardin Historical Museum tea on June 14

The Hardin County Historical Museum, 223 N. Main St., Kenton, will hold an afternoon “tea with Louella Sullivan,” in June.

The tea is at 3 p.m., Friday, June 14, and an RSVP is required by June 7. Tickets are $20 per person.  The server is Linda Martell of “Aprons.”

ONU’s concrete canoe team captures second, advances to nationals

The Ohio Northern University concrete canoe team captured second place at the 2013 American Society of Civil Engineers’ regional concrete canoe contest at Michigan Technological University, April 5-7.

The second-place finish qualifies the ONU concrete canoe team to go to nationals held June 20-22 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Joey Frank becomes all-time overall and doubles wins leader in the OAC tournament quarterfinals

Senior Joey Frank became Ohio Northern's overall and doubles wins leader as the top seeded Ohio Northern men's tennis team defeated No. 8-seed Wilmington by a 5-0 score in the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon at the University Courts.

The Polar Bears are now 16-4 on the season, while the Quakers end their season at 2-12.

Northern will now play either No. 4-seed Mount Union or No. 5-seed John Carroll on Friday afternoon at 1 pm at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, in the OAC Tournament Semifinals.

Frank now has an overall record of 148-58 and has a doubles record of 76-30.
