Women's golf: Wraps up fall schedule Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational

The Ohio Northern women's golf team wrapped up its Fall schedule with a 12th place finish at the Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Springfield Country Club.

The Polar Bears (14-24 overall) finished with 739 strokes.

Junior Megan Conley  led the Polar Bears with a 91-81—172 to finish 26th out of 79 golfers on the par-72, 5800-yard course.

Freshman Ariana Tomasula  tied for 45th with a 96-87—183, freshman Hannah Whisler  tied for 55th with a 96-94—190 and junior Allison Fye  tied for 60th with a 98-96—194.

Joe Frost, Ada's new Edward Jones financial advisor

Offering a full range of financial services, Joe Frost is Ada’s new Edward Jones financial advisor. He started in the Ada office, located at 206 N. Main St., in late August.

“We offer estate planning, life insurance, annunities, long-term care insurance, college financial planning and a full array of financial services,” he said.

Frost, a Findlay native, is a graduate of Findlay High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, where he graduated in 1993.

He said that he encourages clients to take a long-term approach with investing.

ReStore's noon community meals gaining popularity

Thanks to several grants and lots of volunteer efforts, Restore Community Center, 210 N. Main St., now provides free community lunches. The program began this summer.

The lunches are available each weekday except Tuesday, since weekly community dinners are provided at ReStore on that evening.

Retired Biology teacher Jane Wilkerson, lunch coordinator, provides a menu ranging from chili soup, shepherd’s pie, hot dogs, potato chips and chicken casseroles for the noon meals.

Ada CIC meets Wednesday

Ada's Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) holds is October meeting at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 16, according to Angela Polacheck, administrative assistant of the Village of Ada.

The meeting is in Room 7, McIntosh Center on the Ohio Northern University campus. Tickets for the Town and Gown dinner will be available at the meeting. Tickets are $15 each.

Ada chamber meets Oct. 16

The October meeting of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce is at 8 a.m., Wedneday, Oct. 16, according to Deb Curlis, president.

The meeting takes place at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St., Ada.
