All those books! Is there enough time to read each one? The Friends of the Ada Public Library held a used book sale on Saturday during the summer reading program sign-up. A library patron checks out the titles.

Outdoor movies in Ada! That's right. And the first show is Friday!

Three family-oriented outdoor movies will be shown this summer on the Ohio Northern Univesity tundra sponsored by The Freed Center for the Performing Arts and Bluffton Hospital.

The movies and dates are:
Friday, June 5 - Frozen
Friday, July 3 - Toy Story
Friday, Aug. 7 - Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Movies are shown at dusk. Popcorn and beverages are avialable for purchase. Families are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the movies under the stars.

Can you tell that ReStore is busy this summer.

“We are reaching out into the community, trying to do what the community needs,” said Dana Walters, executive director. “We are not just being in ReStore but being out there helping with other events, outside our four walls.”

Here are some of the planned activities:

Columbus Grove won the Northwest Conference 2014-15 “Don Bachman Award of Excellence” for the second time with a strong finish in the spring sports season. 

This award recognizes the school in the conference that exhibits the highest level of consistent excellence in conference-sponsored sports and scholastic bowl competition.

The Bulldogs compiled a total of 77 points to defeat Bluffton (73.5) in a close race with Crestview finished third at 70 points.  Points are awarded and accumulated each year based on conference standings in all sports and the NWC scholastic bowl competition.

The Dairy Beef Feeder queen contest in open to all girls 14 years and older (as of January 1), that are currently enrolled in 4-H or FFA with a dairy beef feeder project.  To be eligible to compete for this honor, a member must fill out the application, complete the essay and participate in an interview.  Applicants will also be given a test over breeds, body parts, and general questions that pertain to the project.

Two fishing events are planned in June by the Hog Creek Game Club, rural Ada.

A fishing derby takes place starting at noon, Sunday, June 14. Then, on Saturday, June 20, is catfish fishing night beginning at 6 p.m.
