D’Souza is Best Performer at the Kenton Cup competition

Conley 3rd team All-BVC; Poling sisters make HM

ADA – Ada High School junior post Anna Conley was voted third team All-Blanchard Valley Conference in girls basketball by the league coaches recently.

The 6-0 Conley led the Bulldog team in scoring (11.7 ppg), rebounds (9.4 avg.) and blocked shots in their first BVC season.

Senior guard Lexi Poling was named honorable mention all-league. She topped Ada in three-point field goals.

Sophomore guard Kenley Poling also earned honorable mention all-conference notice. The quick guard was second on the Bulldogs in three-pointers, and played scrappy defense.

James F. Dicke to deliver 2025 Spotts Lecture on February 24

Ohio Northern University’s T.J. Smull College of Engineering is pleased to welcome to campus James F. “Jim” Dicke, III, president of Crown Equipment Corporation, as the featured speaker for the 2025 Spotts Lecture.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held Monday, February 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

Dicke’s lecture is titled, “Every Innovation Matters: How Each Idea, Big or Small, Can Impact Corporate Success.”

Purse Bingo on 2-hour delay on February 16

The Ada Academic Purse Bingo will be on a 2-hour delay start time for purse raffle on Sunday, February 16.

Organizers posted the following on Facebook:

Doors will now open at 3:00 p.m. and the event will begin at 4:00 p.m. today. If we should have to cancel, we will post that information by 2:30 p.m. today.

Ada girls basketball eliminated by Grove

COLUMBUS GROVE – The scrappy Ada High School girls basketball team had its season ended 80-24 at Northwest Conference champion Columbus Grove in sectional final action on February 15.

CG raced to a 23-3 lead after the first period and led the tournament battle of the Bulldogs 40-7 at halftime.

The Ada girls ended their season 4-19. Second seed CG improved to 21-2 with the victory, and advanced to the district semifinals.

Ada wrestlers 6th at BVC meet; Simon, Riblet win titles

VAN BUREN – The Ada High School wrestling team gave a solid showing in their first Blanchard Valley Conference championship meet on February 15 at Van Buren.

Two Bulldog grapplers took individual titles as Ada finished sixth at the nine-team event.

Liberty-Benton captured the team crown by 16.5 points over second-place Elmwood. Cory-Rawson finished third. The Bulldogs tallied 82.5 points and ended up 15 points shy of fourth place.

Ada senior Landon Simon won the BVC crown at 215 lbs. Bulldog junior Silas Riblet was the league champion at 120 lbs.
