The Village of Ada has four leaf districts with pickup scheduled as follows. Dates are subject to change due to weather or emergencies.

NORTHWEST- DISTRICT A

MONDAYS: Pickup Dates – Oct. 23 and 30, Nov. 6, 13 and 27

NORTHEAST - DISTRICT B

TUESDAYS: Pickup Dates –Oct. 24 and 31, Nov. 7, 14 and 28

SOUTHEAST - DISTRICT C

WEDNESDAYS: Pickup Dates – Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15, and 29  

SOUTHWEST - DISTRICT D

THURSDAYS: Pickup Dates – Oct. 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30

NOTE: No scheduled leaf pickup on November 20-21-22-23-24 (The week of Thanksgiving.)

Hardin County United Way is seeking volunteers for the Community Investment Committee.

The invitation, "Our CIC is the main committee that helps to determine allocations for our partner agencies to receive funding. CIC members will help to interview Partner Agencies and then work with our Board of Directors on the allocation process.

UPDATE: A candidate forum for individuals running for three seats on the Ada School Board was held at ONU's Dicke Forumon Wednesday, October 18. Partial recording HERE. Seven candidates have been invited to the event, which is hosted by the Ada Rotary Club.

Poling nets 3 goals; new Bulldog program record set for wins, individual marks

The Ada High School girls soccer team netted three goals in the first five minutes and went on to post a 5-0 win over visiting Galion in sectional first round play Tuesday evening, October 17, at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada broke the school record for wins in a season with their eighth victory, which improved their mark to 8-6-3 overall and clinched the second winning season in program annals.  

It is the first winning campaign for Bulldog girls soccer in over 20 years.

Galion finished 4-11-2 after the defeat.

The Bulldog girls advance to visit top seed Van Buren (11-3-2) Thursday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. Ada lost at home to the NCOSA runner-up Black Knights by a 3-0 score on Oct. 4.

“This win is a great way to celebrate this team and what they have done,” said Ada second-year head coach Doug Dewese. “It has been a long time since a tournament win for Ada, and we also got a shutout and set a bunch of program and individual records.

The Ada High School volleyball team placed three players on All-Northwest Conference squads in voting conducted Sunday, October 15,  by the league coaches.

Versatile senior setter Autumn Andreasen earned second team all-league notice. She led the team in assists (397) and aces (26), and was among the leaders in digs (209), kills (66) and blocks (16).
