Paul Nutter, associate professor of manufacturing technology and chair of the Department of Technological Studies at Ohio Northern University, received a Distinguished Service Award from the IEOM (Industrial Engineering and Operations Management) Society during its IEOM Detroit Conference in Southfield, Mich., in September. The award recognizes “outstanding achievements and lifelong service as well as outstanding support and service in the industrial engineering and operations management profession.”
During the conference, Nutter chaired a session, “Global Engineering Education,” and delivered a presentation, “Manufacturing Simulation Projects for Experiential University Learning and Partnerships,” based on his experiences at ONU.
Nutter, who joined ONU in 2000, earned his bachelor’s degree and his MBA from Ohio University.
Nutter is a native of Newark, Ohio, and graduate of Lakewood High School. In the region, he is active in Lima, Ohio, with the Serra Club as well as Saint Charles and Saint Gerard’s churches. He previously worked at Rockwell in Kenton, Ohio, and was active with the Kenton Lions Club and United Way of Hardin County.
