Lady Bulldogs sweep Rams

ADA - The Ada volleyball team swept visiting local arch-rival Upper Scioto Valley Tuesday night in a non-league match.
The victory improved the Lady Bulldog record to 3-1, while USV fell to 0-3.
The Lady Rams were scrappy and threatened in the final two sets but Ada overcame USV 25-7, 25-23, 25-20.
"We served hard and with good placement," said Ada head coach Melissa Gossard. "We came out on fire in the first set."
Junior Melina Woods led Ada with a dozen kills, 16 digs and added two aces. Classmate Maddie Gossard passed out 15 assists, served five aces and hit four kills.
Freshman Sidney Gossard served six aces and passed out 11 assists. Junior libero Olivia Alexander came up with 11 digs. Senior Alyssa Vore knocked down nine kills and senior Haley Wyss added four kills.
Ada spikers swept by Cavaliers
COLDWATER - The Ada volleyball squad lost in straight sets at tough Coldwater in a non-league match Thursday night.
The 25-18, 25-9, 25-13 defeat dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 3-2, while the Lady Cavaliers improved to 4-1 following the victory.
Junior middle Melina Woods knocked down six kills, made seven digs and served one ace for Ada. Junior libero Olivia Alexander came up with 15 digs while junior defensive specialist Kaiti Newland made six digs.
Junior Maddie Gossard dished out 10 assists, came up with a pair of digs and hit one kill. Freshman Sidney Gossard served two aces, passed out six assists and made two digs.
Senior Haley Wyss contributed six kills.
Coldwater also won the junior varsity match 25-21, 25-9.
Ada returns to action Monday, August 29 at always-tough Ben Logan.
Elida edges Ada netters
ELIDA - Visiting Ada lost to Elida 3-2 in girls tennis action Thursday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-3 with the close defeat.
The Ada victories came at first and third singles. Senior Meredith Marshall won in straight sets at first singles to improve her personal record to 6-2 this season.
Bulldog senior Libbie Milks also was victorious in straight sets at third singles.

Upper Sandusky downs Ada girls
ADA - Host Ada lost to undefeated Upper Sandusky by the deceptive score of 4-1 in girls tennis Tuesday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 2-2 with the loss, while US improved to 5-0 with the victory.
The lone Ada winner was Meredith Marshall at first singles. She improved to 5-2 this season with a tough three-set win.
Bulldogs Libbie Milks and Shelby Higgins each lost close three-setters in the other singles matches, as did the Ada second doubles team.
