Gary Spradlin was an ONU alumnus
Gary N. Spradlin, 69, died on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at 5:10 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center Inpatient Hospice of Lima.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1946, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Thomas Lloyd and Opal J. (Ray) Spradlin who preceded him in death. On July 16, 1966, he married Diane S. Hackworth and she survives in Lima.
Gary graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in music education. He previously owned his own auto dealership.
Also surviving is a son, Matthew Spradlin of Lima; four grandchildren, Stephen Seimer, Brandon Spradlin, Zachary Sneed, and Nathan Spradlin; and one great granddaughter; and a step brother, Ronnie (Brenda) Cheney of Ada. He was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Allen Spradlin; a grandson, Gary Neil “Gator” Spradlin II; and a brother, Larry Spradlin; and a step brother, Bill Cheney.
There will be no funeral service or visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Gary requested that memorial donations be given to his grandchildren’s educational trust at Huntington National Bank, Lima, Ohio.
