After wins Ada boys' soccer stands 3-1; girls' tennis moves to 3-3

SPENCERVILLE - The Ada boys soccer team started its Northwest Conference season off on the right foot with a 3-0 shutout win at Spencerville Saturday.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 and 1-0 in the NWC with the win.

Logan Williams paced the victorious offense with two goals and one assist. Terry Sheridan contributed one goal and an assist.

Ace Gamble was credited with three saves in goal as he and the Bulldog defense recorded their first shutout.

Ada has outscored its opposition 23-8 so far in four matches this season.

The Bulldog boys play at Old Fort in the NCOSA opener Thursday, September 1.

Bulldog netters whip Rogers

TOLEDO - The visiting Ada girls tennis team defeated Toledo Rogers 4-1 Saturday, but their match at Toledo Waite was halted by rain before completion.

The victory evened Ada's record at 3-3 as they improved to 3-1 on the road.

Senior Meredith Marshall improved to 7-2 this season at first singles with a double bagel win. Classmate Libbie Milks lost just one game in dispatching her foe at second singles.

Both Bulldog doubles tandems won easily in straight sets. Callee Young and Paige Hopson dropped  only one game in winning at first singles, while Melina Temple and Samantha Crawford won handily at second doubles.

Shelby Higgins lost a close match in a third set tiebreaker at third singles.

Lady Bulldog kickers tie MH

MARION - The visiting Ada girls soccer team tied Marion Harding Saturday, 1-1.

The result moved the Lady Bulldog record to 1-1-1 this season.

Ada led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by freshman Katie Butterfield, but gave up a second half goal to end up tied.

Makayla Callahan passed out one assist for the purple and gold.

Rielyn Castle recorded four saves in goal for Ada. The Bulldogs put 15 shots on goal.

Ada plays host to Upper Sandusky Saturday, September 3.
