Deb Curlis talks to Kiwanis about chamber, Ada and lots more

Deb Curlis, president of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and marketing director of Community Health Professionals of Ada, updated Ada Kiwanis members of topic all across the board at the June 28 meeting.

She noted her past employment experiences consisting of assisting her parents with their restaurant, working in retail with Lazarus and Macy’s and finally in the health care field, concluding with Community Health Professions.

She spoke on lessons in dealing with her parent’s declining years and things she was not prepared to face when they were presented to her.

She concluded by thanking the club with their assistance in the recent visit to Ada of over 40 Model A cars, ranging in model year from 1928 to 1931.

She said the Model A's were on exhibit in the Ada depot parking lot and were part of an all-day celebration.

In cooperation with the Buy Ada First and Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, several activities were held to entertain the visiting Model A drivers.

Club members were thanks for their help in providing golf cart transportation, assisting drivers and hosting bingo at the Ada First United Methodist Church.

Kiwanis members surprise their speaker with a round of "Happy Birthday," since it was Curlis' day.
