Ada: Ford Model A Capital of Ohio for the day

Ada served as the unofficial Ford Model A Capital of Ohio on Thursday.

Nearly 40 of the classic vehicles, ranging in models from 1928 to 1931 spent the day in town.

The vehicles were from the Penn-Ohio Model A Ford Club. Their visit here is part of the club’s 2016 Back Roads Tour taking place from June 19-24.

The following photos are by Monty Siekerman:

Steve Cole and daughter Cathy (left) discuss Model As with attorney Charles VanDyne. Charles has a black 1931 Model A. Cole Motors is one of the oldest businesses in town. Steve talked to the group about how cars first came to Ada in two pieces and had to be assembled here, on the same property the company continues to own and operate from. Steve's grandfather began the business in Ada. Steve is now retired, with Cathy handling the sales and repair duties of new and used vehicles for the company.

Brims Imports of Kenton brought a truck with three old and valuable motorcycles. The display included a 1907 three-wheeled Indian motorcycle. Only three were ever made. There were also a 1912 and a 1913 Indian board track racers. These racers competed inside on wood floors.
