As the school year winds down, there's some important reminders

The end is in sight...the end of the school year.

Here are some news items from the Ada school website related to school winding down for the year.

May 24th High School Honor Assembly 1:15 – 3:15 pm Auditorium
May 25th Graduation practice 10:30 – 11:30 High School gymnasium 
**Attendance is Mandatory** - Picnic will follow practice. 
May 26th Last day of School for K-11 grades ***Early dismissal at 1:30 pm***
May 27th Teacher’s work day
May 29th Commencement at 2:00 PM Ada High School Gym
June 4th Ada Alumni Banquet at 5:30 in Cafeteria

CONGRATULATIONS: To the cast and crew of A Voice in the Dark for being nominated in 6 out of 13 categories for the Hardin County Take a Bow Awards. The award ceremony will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. A special shout out goes to individual nominees, Olivia, Sidney, Reece, Eli and Evan. Also, great job to the entire cast for being nominated as best ensemble.

ALL LIBRARY BOOKS NEED TO BE RETURNED THIS WEEK. This includes any copies of borrowed Book Club titles. In addition, there will be no new check-outs through the end of the year. Overdue notices will be posted on the library windows beginning Monday, May 16. See Mrs. Smith with any questions.

ATTENTION STUDENTS GRADE 8-11: Anyone interested in Varsity Singers Stage Crew must see Mrs. Glenn by May 11.

STUDENT COUNCIL: Student Council petitions are available in the library from Mrs. Smith. Elections will take place during Advisory on May 16. Petitions need to have 20 signatures of classmates as well as five teacher approvals and are due no later than May 13. The following openings for the 2016-2017 school year: Incoming 8th graders: 1, Freshmen: 2, Sophomores: 1, Juniors: 3, Seniors: 3. See Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Bowden with any questions. 

ALUMINUM CANS: Save your aluminum cans for the next three weeks to help support Prom. You will be able to drop off the cans you save in south parking lot on Wednesday, May 11, or Thursday, May 12. This fundraiser is only for aluminum cans, not other metals.

BACCALAUREATE SERVICE: Thursday, May 19, at 7 pm. at the ONU Chapel. Seniors: We need your senior picture and baby pictures of everyone for a slide show if you want your pictures to be a part of the slide show. Please email pictures to Angela Simon at [email protected] immediately. 

ADA SUMMER SWIM TEAM SIGN-UPS: Ada summer swim team sign-ups for students ages 5-18 will be Wednesday, May 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Ada First United Methodist Church. Cost is $50 for first swimmer; $45 for second swimmer; $40 for third swimmer, and so on.

Included in this fee is one program ad per family to be provided in the championship heat sheet. Samples will be at registration for designing your ad.
