Fox named Freshman of the Year; Men's lacrosse lands three All-OAC honorees

Freshman Andrew Fox was named Ohio Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year for the 2016 men's lacrosse season, while three earned All-Conference honors announced Wednesday.

Fox was also named Second Team defense, while freshman Anthony Pavone also earned Second Team honors at midfield and freshman Steven Slagle garnered Honorable Mention honors.

Fox appeared in all 15 games for the Polar Bears forcing a team-high 36 turnovers, while picking up 42 ground balls. 

Pavone appeared in all 15 games making 14 starts as a freshman. He recorded 32 points tying a team-high 28 goals while shooting a team-high 113 shots. 

Slagle led the attack for Northern recording a team-high 69 points on a team-high 42 assists and 27 goals. He led the conference in assists and was ranked second in points.

The freshman appeared in and started all 15 games for the Polar Bears last season.

Northern finished its inaugural season 8-7 overall, 1-6 Ohio Athletic Conference.
