Edith L. Baker, 93, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 10:50 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on July 14, 1922 in PennYan, NY., to Carl and Dellaphine (Cornell) Hatch, who preceded her in death. On July 28, 1940, she married Richard R. Baker and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1995.
Edith has gone home to join her beloved husband. She was a wife, mother and homemaker and in her younger years was involved in her church and loved to knit and crochet. She has traveled through most of the United States and also lived in Brazil and Romania with her husband.
Surviving are two daughters: Sherry Lee & husband Robert of Bluffton, SC, and Sandra Dawson of Lebanon, TN; Eight grandchildren: Teresa Deneen & husband Daniel, Sean Lee & wife Jennifer, Robert Lee, Meagan Lee & husband Michael Hansel, Mark Dawson & wife Cindy, Michael Dawson & wife Rene, Matthew Dawson & wife Patti, and Michelle Parsley & husband Jeff; 15 great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bruce Dawson; and a brother, Carl Hatch, Jr.
Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Matthew Oliver officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Candler Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
