Ohio Northern University’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi accepted new organization pledges and inductees into its chapter during a ceremony on Jan. 28. In addition, the chapter inducted ONU alumna Joanne Lipski as an honorary member.
Lipski, a 1972 graduate of Ohio Northern University, is a certified public accountant who resides in Perrysburg, Ohio. She currently is a trustee of ONU and has served in that role for more than 30 years. In past years, she has served as chair or vice-chair of the Committee on Admissions, Enrollment and Financial Aid; the Academic Affairs Committee; the Audit Committee; and Honorary Degree Committee of the Board of Trustees. In 2011, she was honored with The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration Outstanding Service Award. In 2012, she received a Distinguished Alumni Award from ONU’s Alumni Association. In 2014, she received the business college’s Pinnacle Award.
The inducted ONU students were Ja’Nessa Burnette, a junior accounting student from Akron, Ohio; Miranda Buschur, a junior marketing student from Saint Henry, Ohio; Kaitlyn Cook, a Master of Science in Accounting student from Youngstown, Ohio; Joseph De Luca, a Master of Science in Accounting student from Ada, Ohio; Andrew DiModica, a senior accounting student from Ada, Ohio; Richard Foutz, a senior accounting student from Massillon, Ohio; Aaron Honious, a junior accounting student from West Alexandria, Ohio; David Janusz, a senior accounting student from Oregonia, Ohio; Anthony Jones, a junior accounting student from Forest, Ohio; Thomas McArdle, a senior management student from Xenia, Ohio; Samuel Nemeth, a junior accounting student from Cleveland, Ohio; Kevin O'Connor, a junior accounting student from Medina, Ohio; Elizabeth Runser, a Master of Science in accounting student from Lima, Ohio; Chanel Stasiuk, a junior accounting student from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; Maison Steyer, a junior accounting student from Tiffin, Ohio; Chelsea Stockmeyer, a Master of Science in Accounting student from Reese, Mich.; and Ariana Tomasula, a senior accounting student from Rocky River, Ohio. Kyler Deeter, a junior accounting student from Covington, Ohio, was a student pledge.
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are more than 300 chapters on college and university campuses with more than 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi’s formation. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.
