Dysert's circle complete: Miami Redhawks to Miami Dolphins

Attention Ada sports fans: Dump all your previous NFL sports gear and start purchasing items that say Miami Dolphins.

Dysert will be in Ada on Saturday, Jan. 30. His football jersey, number 12, will be retired. A ceremony takes place between the JV and varsity boys' basketball game between Ada and Hardin Northern.

Zac Dysert signed to the Dolphins yesterday. The move came about as the Dolphins chose former Denver assistant coach Adam Gase as its new head coach. Gase worked with Dysert in Denver.

He will be competing for the job of reserve quarterback for the Dolphins. Dysert and Miami have a nice ring together as Dysert played for the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks and is now a Miami Dolphin.

Dysert was a seventh round pick of the Broncos in 2013 and was on the team’s active roster the entire season. In 2014 he was on Denver’s practice squad before spending time on Houston and Buffalo’s practice squads last season.

Dysert played for Miami of Ohio in college, breaking Ben Roethlisberger’s record to become the school’s all-time leading passer with 12,013 yards.

Miami's starting quarterback is Ryan Tannehill. Longtime backup Matt Moore is a free agent.
